Dialogue between citizens and the politicians on issues of security and peace in South Asia

Mashal co-organized with Citizen's Peace Committee (CPC) and Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) Parliamentarians-Citizens Nuclear Dialogue on January 28, 1999 at Islamabad. The discussion was divided into two sessions - the first was on the signing of various regulatory teaties like the CTBT, while the second session examined the role of Kashmir in the security policies of the two countries.

Parliamentarians namely Fakhar Imam, Shafqat Mehmood, Kunwar Khalid Younas, Col. (Rtd) Ghulam Sarwar Cheema and several citizens including journalists and activists participated in the Dialogue. Dr. Pervez Hoodbhoy and Dr. Eqbal Ahmad opened the proceedings while Asma Jehangir and I.A. Rehman chaired the first and second session respectively.
